About This Album
Two decades after their 2002 formation, the Filipino sextet behind the landmark pop project Silent Sanctuary redefined the country’s local music landscape by pioneering a fusion of classical orchestral instrumentation and standard rock band tools, a trademark sound they dubbed “Rockestra” that set them apart from every other act emerging from the Philippines’ vibrant early 2000s creative scene. What began as a bold experiment to weave cello and violin into the backbone of their pop-infused rock writing quickly cemented their status as one of the most influential acts of their generation, earning a loyal fanbase that has only expanded across generations in the years since their debut. Fans consistently describe their work as nostalgic, rooted in anthemic songwriting that first connected deeply with high school and college audiences, a resonance that has transcended its initial core demographic to win over younger listeners who continue to find new meaning in the band’s discography.
