Founded in 2002 as a 6-piece Filipino band, Silent Sanctuary emerged as a defining pioneer of their country’s homegrown alternative and pop spaces, crafting a signature sound that redefined the possibilities of standard rock band instrumentation by weaving in classical strings: cello and violin, a blend so distinct and innovative for their local scene that they dubbed their trademark style “Rockestra.” From their first shows to their earliest studio recordings, the band leaned into this unique fusion to stand out from other acts working in the Philippines’ pop and rock spaces, building a loyal fanbase that grew alongside their expanding catalog of work. In the years that followed their formation, the band built a robust discography that spans standalone singles, one EP titled Kahimanawari, and four full-length studio albums: Fuschiang Pag-ibig, Mistaken For Granted, Monodramatic, and Langit Luha.
