About this Song
Filipino pop has long been shaped by boundary-pushing acts that rework core genre conventions to create sounds that feel both rooted in local cultural identity and broadly resonant, and few acts have left as indelible a mark on the modern landscape as the sextet that introduced the world to their genre-blending “Rockestra” trademark. Formed in 2002, Silent Sanctuary is a 6-piece Filipino alternative pop-rock band recognized as one of the pioneers in mixing classical instruments such as cello and violin with standard band rock instrumentation, a choice that set their work apart from peers in the early 2000s local scene and created a blueprint for future artists looking to blend disparate sonic worlds.
