About this Song
Rooted in the Philippines’ rich, diverse pop music landscape, the six-piece outfit Silent Sanctuary cut a singular path through the country’s alternative and mainstream music scenes from their founding in 2002, earning a reputation as one of the most innovative groups of their era for their commitment to blending unorthodox instrumentation with accessible, emotionally resonant songwriting. Recognized as pioneers of their self-dubbed “Rockestra” sound, the group reimagined what a modern band could create by weaving classical instruments like cello and violin into the foundation of their arrangements, pairing those orchestral flourishes with standard band instrumentation to craft a lush, distinctive sonic identity that set them apart from their peers from their earliest releases.
