About this Song
Filipino pop has long thrived on boundary-pushing fusions that redefine what popular music from the archipelago can sound like, blending mainstream accessibility with idiosyncratic creative choices that carve out permanent space in the national cultural consciousness. As one of the scene’s most influential pioneering acts, Silent Sanctuary emerged in 2002 as a 6-piece alternative pop-rock band that would redefine local pop’s sonic boundaries by introducing their wholly original trademark style, dubbed “Rockestra”, which centers the unexpected combination of classical orchestral instruments like cello and violin with the standard guitar, bass, and drum setup of a traditional rock band.
