Nidji is an Indonesian rock band formed in February 2002 in Jakarta. The band's name comes from the Japanese word "niji," meaning "rainbow." Nidji's music is categorized as alternative pop, with influences from bands like Coldplay and The Killers. The current members are Ramadhista Akbar (guitar), Andi Ariel Harsya (guitar), Andro Regantoro (bass), Adri Prakarsa (drums), Randy Danistha (keyboards/synthesizers), and Yusuf Ubay (vocals/saxophone). Nidji's debut album, *Breakthru'*, released in 2005, sold over 300,000 copies and earned a double platinum award. An English version of *Breakthru'* was released in 2006. Their second album, *Top Up*, was released in 2007. Nidji contributed soundtrack music for the Indonesian film *Laskar Pelangi*. The song "Laskar Pelangi" became a major hit and served as the soundtrack for the 2008 film of the same name, which was based on a book by Andrea Hirata. Giring Ganesha Djumaryo, the band's former vocalist, wrote the lyrics for "Laskar Pelangi.
