About this Song
Nidji builds its creative practice from the diverse, interconnected creative communities that define Indonesia’s sprawling music ecosystem, a network of creators that spans thousands of islands and pulls together a vast range of cultural and artistic sensibilities to craft work that resists easy categorization. As a creator operating within the orbit of Musica Studio's, a core institutional anchor for Indonesian music creators, Nidji contributes to a long lineage of artists that prioritize pushing creative boundaries rather than adhering to the narrow confines of preexisting genre boxes, a choice that is fully reflected in the classification of its sound recording Shadows, which falls under the broad umbrella of Music/Other/Other, a designation reserved for work that defies the standard genre labels applied to most mainstream and independent music releases.
