Nidji, an Indonesian rock band from Jakarta, formed in February 2002. The band's name comes from the Japanese word "niji" (虹), meaning "rainbow". Nidji's music is categorized under the alternative pop genre, with influences including Coldplay and The Killers, and is characterized by catchy melodies, intense guitar riffs, and relatable lyrics. Their debut album, *Breakthru'*, released in 2005, sold over 300,000 copies and received a double platinum award from Musica Studio's. An English-language version of *Breakthru'* was released in 2006. Nidji's second album, *Top Up*, was released in 2007. Songs like "Heaven" from *Breakthru'* and "Shadows" from *Top Up* were used as background music for Southeast Asian promos of the television series *Heroes*. Nidji also provided soundtrack music for the Indonesian film *Laskar Pelangi*, with the song "Laskar Pelangi" becoming an iconic anthem. In 2012, their song "Liberty Victory" was adopted by Manchester United as a new anthem.
