The Indonesian pop album *Sheila on 7* is the self-titled debut from the alternative rock band, Sheila on 7, formed in Yogyakarta on May 6, 1996. This initial release, which achieved multi-platinum status, was ranked #33 on *Rolling Stone Indonesia*'s "The 150 Greatest Indonesian Albums of All Time." The band, comprising Akhdiyat Duta Modjo on vocals, Saktia "Sakti" Ari Seno and Eross Candra on guitar, Adam Muhammad Subarkah on bass, and Anton Widiastanto on drums, signed with Sony Music Entertainment Indonesia in 1998. Sheila on 7 holds the distinction of being the first Indonesian band to sell over one million copies for each of their first three albums. Their music, characterized by a blend of rock and pop elements, features catchy melodies, heartfelt lyrics, and strong vocals, often exploring themes of love, friendship, and everyday life. Eross Candra, the guitarist, also serves as the band's main songwriter.
