Sheila on 7, an Indonesian alternative rock band formed in Yogyakarta on May 6, 1996, initially featured Akhdiyat Duta Modjo on vocals, Saktia "Sakti" Ari Seno and Eross Candra on guitars, Adam Muhammad Subarkah on bass, and Anton Widiastanto on drums. The band's name references the seven-note solfège, and their fanbase is known as "Sheilagank." Signing with Sony Music Entertainment Indonesia in 1998, Sheila on 7 released their self-titled debut album in 1999, which achieved multi-platinum status and was ranked #33 on *Rolling Stone Indonesia*'s "The 150 Greatest Indonesian Albums of All Time." They became the first Indonesian band to sell over one million copies for each of their first three albums. Their second album, *Kisah Klasik Untuk Masa Depan* (2000), topped the Billboard Malaysia Hits Albums chart and is listed at #8 among the all-time best-selling Indonesian albums. The band's music has also been released in neighboring countries such as Malaysia, Singapore, and Brunei.
