Sheila on 7 is an Indonesian pop band. The band formed in Yogyakarta on May 6, 1996. The initial lineup included Akhdiyat Duta Modjo on vocals, Saktia "Sakti" Ari Seno on guitar, Eross Candra on guitar, Adam Muhammad Subarkah on bass, and Anton Widiastanto on drums. The name "Sheila on 7" refers to the seven-note solfège. Their fanbase is known as "Sheilagank." Sheila on 7 signed with Sony Music Entertainment Indonesia in 1998. Their self-titled debut album, released in 1999, reached multi-platinum status. *Sheila on 7* was ranked #33 on Rolling Stone Indonesia's "The 150 Greatest Indonesian Albums of All Time." The band is the first Indonesian act to sell over one million copies for each of their first three albums. Their second album, *Kisah Klasik Untuk Masa Depan* (2000), topped the Billboard Malaysia Hits Albums chart. *Kisah Klasik Untuk Masa Depan* is listed at #8 on the all-time best-selling Indonesian albums. The band's music has been released in Malaysia, Singapore, and Brunei.
