Sheila on 7, an Indonesian alternative rock band formed in Yogyakarta in 1996, released "Film Favorit" in 2018 as their first single under their own label, 507 Records, which they established in 2017. The band, initially comprising Akhdiyat Duta Modjo on vocals, Saktia "Sakti" Ari Seno and Eross Candra on guitars, Adam Muhammad Subarkah on bass, and Anton Widiastanto on drums, named themselves "Sheila on 7" in reference to the seven-note solfège. Their music, a blend of rock and pop elements, is characterized by catchy melodies, heartfelt lyrics, and strong vocals, often exploring themes of love, friendship, and everyday life. Eross Candra, the band's guitarist, also serves as their main songwriter. Sheila on 7 signed with Sony Music Entertainment Indonesia in 1998, and their self-titled debut album in 1999 reached multi-platinum status and was ranked #33 on Rolling Stone Indonesia's "The 150 Greatest Indonesian Albums of All Time.
