Rooted in that universal pop tradition, the work that would become the album Air Supply draws on a decades-long creative bond that started with a single, fateful first meeting, one that grew out of a shared theatrical experience that laid the groundwork for all of the pair’s future collaborations. Graham Russell and Russell Hitchcock first crossed paths on May 12, 1975, on the first day of rehearsals for the Australian production of Jesus Christ Superstar in Sydney, a moment that could have easily remained a small footnote in both men’s early careers if not for the immediate creative alignment they discovered that day.
