About This Album
Music/Other, a classification that holds space for projects that resist narrow, genre-bound categorizations, frames the collaborative album AAA, which brings together the distinct creative practices of HYUKOH and 落日飛車 Sunset Rollercoaster, rooted in the creative ecosystem of the Philippines. As a classification that rejects the silos that often separate popular, folk, experimental, and cross-cultural musical forms, Music/Other is intentionally applied to work that defies easy labeling, a fitting home for a collaborative project that weaves together the separate artistic lineages of its two credited creators to produce a body of work that cannot be condensed to the standard markers that define more mainstream, commercially aligned musical output.
