About This Album
Rock and roll is one of the most enduring popular music genres to take root in the Philippines. It has evolved alongside the archipelago’s own cultural shifts for decades. It retains a raw, unapologetic creative energy that resonates with generations of creators and audiences across the country. It has spread from small local venues in rural towns to large festival stages in the country’s biggest urban centers, drawing consistent crowds that turn out to engage with the genre’s specific blend of familiarity and edge. Soapdish Reloaded exists as a full-length album that falls squarely within this robust, longstanding Philippine rock and roll landscape. It carries forward the core impulses that have defined rock and roll recordings from the region since the genre first gained widespread popularity among Filipino listeners in the mid-20th century.
