The Smile's 2024 album *Wall of Eyes* features contributions from the London Contemporary Orchestra, Robert Stillman on clarinet and saxophone, and Pete Wareham on flute. This second studio album from the English rock band was produced by Sam Petts-Davies. The band, formed in 2018, consists of Thom Yorke (vocals, guitar, bass, keys) and Jonny Greenwood (guitar, bass, keys), both from Radiohead, along with Tom Skinner (drums) of Sons of Kemet. Their name is taken from a poem by Ted Hughes. The Smile initially worked during the COVID-19 lockdowns in 2020 and 2021, making their surprise debut in a performance streamed by Glastonbury Festival in May 2021. Critics have noted that The Smile's sound shares similarities with Radiohead, while also incorporating jazz, krautrock, and progressive rock influences, resulting in a looser and wilder musical approach.
