The Other genre recording "Bending Hectic" is a single from The Smile, an English rock band formed in 2018 by Thom Yorke (vocals, guitar, bass, keys) and Jonny Greenwood (guitar, bass, keys), both from Radiohead, alongside Tom Skinner (drums) of Sons of Kemet. The band's name is drawn from a poem by Ted Hughes. The Smile began working during the COVID-19 lockdowns in 2020 and 2021, making their unannounced debut in a performance streamed by Glastonbury Festival in May 2021. Critics have often compared The Smile's sound to that of Radiohead, noting additional influences from jazz, krautrock, and progressive rock, contributing to a looser, wilder sonic palette. The Smile's debut album, *A Light for Attracting Attention*, was released in May 2022 to critical acclaim and reached number five on the UK Albums Chart. It was produced by Nigel Godrich, Radiohead's long-time producer.
