The English rock band The Smile, formed by Radiohead members Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood with Sons of Kemet drummer Tom Skinner, presents "I Quit." The band, whose name comes from a Ted Hughes poem, came together in 2018 and created music during the 2020 and 2021 COVID-19 lockdowns. Their unexpected debut was a performance streamed by Glastonbury Festival in May 2021. Critics have noted similarities between The Smile's sound and Radiohead's, yet they also highlight additional influences from jazz, krautrock, and progressive rock, contributing to a looser and wilder overall sound. The Smile's debut album, *A Light for Attracting Attention*, was released in May 2022 to critical acclaim, produced by Radiohead's long-time producer, Nigel Godrich. This album reached number five on the UK Albums Chart. Singles from their debut included "You Will Never Work in Television Again," released in January 2022, along with "The Smoke," "Skrting on the Surface," "Pana-vision," "Free in the Knowledge," and "Thin Thing.
