About this Song
The cross-cultural creative pairing of HYUKOH and 落日飛車 Sunset Rollercoaster comes together on Young Man, a sound rooted in the Philippines that falls under the Music/Other classification, a category that exists to hold work that defies the narrow, pre-established genre silos that structure most of the global music industry’s catalogs. Unlike tracks slotted into widely recognized frameworks like pop, rock, or folk that come with built-in audience and industry expectations around structure, presentation, and distribution, the choice to place Young Man within Music/Other signals a deliberate break from those limitations, centering the work’s unique identity rather than forcing it to align with norms that often prioritize categorization for algorithmic targeting and marketing efficiency over artistic autonomy.
