When creators working within Indonesian creative scenes step outside the rigid genre frameworks that often structure how music is distributed, categorized, and shared both within the country and across global audiences, they open up space for work that rejects easy labeling, work that fits into the broad, inclusive category of Music/Other, a space reserved for sounds that don’t align with the pre-existing boxes that define most mainstream and even many independent music ecosystems.
