Shirebound, the Filipino indie folk music project founded by singer-songwriter Iego Tan, began as a solo endeavor in 2016 under the name Shirebound & Busking. The original name drew inspiration from J. R. R. Tolkien's The Shire and Tan's admiration for Irish musician Glen Hansard. Over time, the project evolved into a full band, shortening its name to Shirebound. The act's music is characterized by its indie folk sound, often described as "bedroom confessionals" due to its emotive and introspective nature. Tan's compositions frequently explore themes of romance, longing, and nature, creating a distinct lyrical landscape within the Philippines' music scene. Among Shirebound's notable releases is "Waltz of Four Left Feet," a piece that first emerged as a single in 2016. This track later found a place on Tan's 2019 debut album, *For Princesses, By Thieves (O Mga Awit Ng Hiraya Para Sa Guni-guning Sinta)*.
