From the Philippines, Silent Sanctuary's music blends pop-rock with classical elements, creating a distinctive sound that has garnered them a dedicated following. The band, formed in Metro Manila in 2001, initially comprised Norman Dellosa on vocals and guitars, Paolo Legaspi on bass and backing vocals, and Allen Calixto on drums. They quickly distinguished themselves by integrating classical instruments into their rock foundation, an approach solidified by the addition of cellist Anjo Inacay. This unique direction was further enhanced in 2002 when violinists Jett Ramirez and Chino David joined, contributing string arrangements that became a hallmark of their sound after a performance on UnTV's "In the Raw." Silent Sanctuary's journey began with their independently produced full-length album, *Ellipsis of the Mind*, released in February 2004. Following this, Norman Dellosa departed, and Sarkie Sarangay took over as lead vocalist, while Jason Rondero later replaced Paolo Legaspi on bass.
