The Filipino pop rock band Cup of Joe, formed in Baguio City in November 2018, defines its musical style as "experimental," incorporating genres such as acoustic pop, retro, alternative pop, retro-wave, and neo-folk. The band's music is influenced by their environment in Baguio, with songs like "Nag-iisang Muli" being inspired by the city's scenic surroundings and cool breeze. Comprising lead vocalists Edgar Gian Bernardino and Raphaell "Rapha" Ridao, keyboardist Vixen "Xen" Gareza, lead guitarist Antonio Gabriel "Gab" Fernandez, and rhythm guitarist Clint Joules "CJ" Fernandez, the group signed with Viva Records in 2019. Their debut extended play (EP), *Patutunguhan* (2023), included the song "Tingin" with Janine Teñoso, which entered the Billboard Philippines Songs chart. Another track, "Ikaw Pa Rin Ang Pipiliin Ko," is a folk-pop version of a Marion Aunor song and marked a shift towards a neo-folk sound for the band. In 2022, Cup of Joe released the singles "Mananatili" and "Estranghero.
