About This Album
Laufey’s Spotify Singles Holiday stands as a curated collection of cover recordings, crafted and released under the artist’s creative stewardship, anchored to the creative landscape of the Philippines, where this body of work takes its place in the broader continuum of recorded cover music that emerges from the region’s rich, interconnected artistic communities. As a collection dedicated entirely to reimagined existing songs, this album leans into the longstanding tradition of cover recordings that allow artists to engage with the canon of music that has shaped their own creative sensibilities, turning familiar compositions into spaces to infuse their own distinct artistic perspective, even as they honor the core of the work that first inspired their engagement with music as a practice and a passion.
