About this Song
Rock and roll’s spread across the globe has never followed a linear path of replication, instead sprouting localized iterations that wrap the genre’s foundational energy around the specific cultural, linguistic, and creative legacies of the communities that adopt it. Tensionado, a rock and roll sound from the Philippines, fits squarely within that long legacy of reimagining a form often reduced to its mid-20th century American origins to serve entirely new creative ends, rooted in a scene that has cultivated rock and roll as a staple of independent and mainstream creative output for generations.
