About This Album

Discover Hot Air Balloon, the standout album from Nigerian artist Nick Hawthorne, a genre-defying project rooted in the vibrant, diverse creative ecosystem of African music emerging from Nigeria. Unfettered by traditional genre constraints, this collection weaves unexpected sonic layers to craft an immersive, whimsical yet grounded listening experience that feels both refreshingly original and deeply tied to the rich experimental spirit of modern Nigerian independent music.
