About This Album
To encounter a pop record rooted in Indonesia is to step into a vast, ongoing conversation that stretches across thousands of islands, weaving together the shared and distinct sensibilities of the hundreds of communities that call the archipelago home, a conversation that has long used pop’s accessible, unifying structure to give voice to the small, seismic moments that make up a life, the joys and griefs and quiet routines that bind people to one another even as the world around them shifts in ways both small and unrecognizable.
