About this Song
Rooted in the vibrant, ever-evolving community of pop creators based in Indonesia, the creative force behind Katakan Sejujurnya operates within a cultural and artistic landscape that has long centered pop as a primary vehicle for connecting with audiences across the archipelago and across global diaspora communities that carry deep, sustained connections to Indonesia. For generations, Indonesian pop creators have navigated a space that balances the unique cultural currents that run through every island and region of the country, weaving those distinct local sensibilities into the broader global framework of pop music to create work that feels both rooted in specific, shared experiences and adaptable to the wide range of contexts in which audiences encounter popular music.
