Fourtwnty formed in Jakarta, Indonesia in 2010. The Indonesian folk-pop band counts six members across its core lineup: Ari Lesmana, Nuwi, Roby Satria, Andi Armand, Primandha Ridho, and Ryan Maulana. Roby Satria, who also holds a permanent place in the band Geisha, was one of the founding members that helped launch Fourtwnty. The band has built its reputation on a distinctive style that weaves together pop and indie elements, widely classified as folk-pop defined by sharp, poetic lyrics. Their entire discography is marked by captivating songs, layered and profound lyricism, and soul-stirring vocal performances that have cemented their standing across Southeast Asia’s independent music landscape. The band’s first studio album, Lelaku, arrived in 2015, marking their formal entry into Indonesia’s mainstream independent music scene. Their second studio album, Ego & fungsi otak, launched in 2018, brought the band widespread critical and commercial acclaim that extended far beyond their home base.
