About this Song
The Philippines’ pop music sphere has long been a space where creative collectives reimagine mainstream structure to weave in deeply rooted cultural narratives, turning familiar pop frameworks into vessels for stories that feel both anchored in local heritage and resonant with contemporary audiences navigating complex, often unspoken emotional landscapes. Within that space operates fitterkarma, a collective of musicians bound not by rigid industry expectations but by a shared commitment to unfiltered artistic expression, building a body of work that pulls from a dynamic range of influences to craft a sound that is entirely, unmistakably their own. What sets fitterkarma apart from many acts working within the broader pop landscape is their intentional choice to center dark, emotional lyricism, a choice that rejects the often one-note upbeat framing that can dominate mainstream pop, instead leaning into the full spectrum of human grief, longing, uncertainty, and quiet hope that defines lived experience.
