UDD, the group once known as Up Dharma Down, crafts their pop sound Thinker from their base in the Philippines, as the electronic trio continues to evolve the sonic identity that has made them one of the most compelling acts to emerge from the country’s vibrant domestic and international music circuit. Composed of core members Paul Yap, Carlos Tañada, and Ean Mayor, the band first earned widespread critical acclaim beyond Southeast Asia when Mark Coles of BBC Radio singled them out as “the Manila band most likely to cross over to the lucrative Anglophone market of North America,” a prescient observation that would precede years of cross-continental touring, major streaming milestones, and shared stages with some of the most influential names in global alternative and electronic music.
