Following the tragic loss of founder member Mark Sheehan in 2023, his bandmates Danny O’Donoghue and Glen Power vowed that the best way to pay tribute to him would be to continue the band they had built together and reconnect with The Script’s worldwide family of fans. That commitment led them back to the studio, where they channeled their grief, gratitude, and shared decades of history into new work that honors Sheehan’s legacy while pushing their sound into uncharted, hopeful new territory. Arms Open, a pop recording originating from the Philippines, sits at the heart of that new body of work, part of the band’s upcoming album Satellites, a life-affirming record that brings a fiery new energy to their anthemic, arena-filling signature sound.
