This pop recording from the Philippines is titled "Crazy Girl." The band Parokya Ni Edgar, known as the reigning court jesters of the Philippines, formed in Ateneo High School in Manila with six students: vocalist Chito Miranda, back-up singer and dancer Vinci Montaner, guitarists Darius Semana and Gab CheeKee, bassist Buwi Meneses, and drummer Dindin Moreno. Initially named Comic Relief, the group specialized in performing parodies of well-known songs. In 1994, the band began performing at Manila's Club Dredd, a hotbed for alternative music. Their oddball outfits and goofy stage antics quickly made them local favorites. Parokya Ni Edgar was eventually signed to Universal with the help of Richard Tan, who managed Philippine punk groups the Youth and Teeth. The Youth's Robert Javier produced Parokya Ni Edgar's 1996 debut, *KHANGKHUNGKHERRNitZ The Album*. This unusually titled album achieved platinum status in just six months.
