Formed in 1999, the group has cited influences such as The Smiths, The Beatles, and the Eraserheads. "Lihim" continues Orange & Lemons's work following their 2017 reformation as a trio, a decade after their initial disbandment in 2007. The band's discography includes the double-platinum album *Strike Whilst the Iron Is Hot* and *Moonlane Gardens*, which was named Album of the Year at the 2007 NU Rock Awards. In 2018, they released an updated version of their debut album, *Love in the Land of Rubber Shoes & Dirty Ice Cream (15th Anniversary Edition)*, and later incorporated live keyboardist Jared Nerona, who contributed arrangements to their 2022 Tagalog album, *La Bulaqueña*.
