M.Y.M.P. (Make Your Mama Proud) is an acoustic band from the Philippines, founded in late 1996 by Jacques "Chin" Alcantara. Initially a four-man rock band, M.Y.M.P. transitioned to a pop sound in 2000 with the addition of a female vocalist. Marifil Niña Girado, later known as Nina, was an early female vocalist before leaving for a solo career. Juris Fernandez joined as the lead vocalist in 2001. M.Y.M.P.'s recording career began after Raymond Ryan, a station manager for iFM, saw them perform and connected them with a producer. Their debut album, *Soulful Acoustic*, was released in 2003 through Ivory Music and Video and achieved Platinum certification. In 2005, M.Y.M.P. released two more albums, *Beyond Acoustic* and *Versions*, through Ivory Music. The success of these albums led to their re-release as a two-disc set in the same year.
