R.I.P. Badang is a pop sound rooted in the Philippines, tied to Loonie’s much-awaited comeback project, the album Meron Na. Loonie builds his long-awaited return around a core creative belief: collaboration remains one of the most powerful tools to make lasting, meaningful music. To bring that vision to life, he enlisted a roster of some of the most vital voices in Philippine hip-hop, including Flow G, Omar Baliw, JRLDM, and Smugglaz, alongside rising up-and-coming artist Hev Abi, a lineup that represents only a fraction of the creative talent that contributes to the album’s full scope. The project also draws on the work of stellar music producers, each bringing their own distinct approach to the table: Yung Bawal, Klumcee, Jim P, Apoc, and Ochomil, all of whom lend their skills to shape the album’s varied sonic identity.
