حول هذه الأغنية
The Filipino R&B creator behind ROYGBIV works within an expansive, deeply interconnected community of practitioners across the Philippines who have spent decades reinterpreting, expanding, and reshaping the global framework of R&B to fit the unique cultural, social, and artistic landscapes of the archipelago. R&B’s journey through the Philippines has never been one of passive adoption; instead, creators across every region of the country have woven the genre’s core sensibilities into existing local musical traditions, creating a body of work that feels both rooted in a global genre and unmistakably tied to the specific experiences of life and art-making in the Philippines. ROYGBIV emerges from this rich lineage, standing as a testament to the way contemporary Filipino R&B creators continue to push the boundaries of what the genre can hold, exploring new avenues of expression while honoring the generations of artists who came before them to build the thriving Filipino R&B scene that exists today.
