Alternative rock from the Philippines, as performed by fitterkarma, often blends indie rock and art rock, incorporating acoustic and electric guitars alongside warm vocals. The band, formed in Metro Manila in 2023, draws its name from a combination of Radiohead song titles, "Fitter Happier" and "Karma Police," from their 1997 album *OK Computer*. Initially a solo project by Joao de Leon in 2019, fitterkarma evolved into a band with members from the De La Salle–College of Saint Benilde's music production program, including Joao de Leon on vocals and guitar, Sophia Miranda on bass and backing vocals, Sanders Bayas on drums, and Mikee Mendoza on guitar and backing vocals. Their lyrical themes frequently explore obsessive or masochistic love, devotion, and emotional struggles, inspired by Philippine folklore and personal experiences. Critics have noted a horror-themed storytelling approach in their music, drawing comparisons to The Cranberries' "Zombie.
