Imago, the Filipino pop act behind the sound recording Imago - Spoliarium, operates within the vibrant, interconnected ecosystem of Philippine popular music, a sphere that has long centered original work from local creators, lifting up voices that speak to the specific experiences and perspectives of audiences across the country’s archipelagic landscape, while also engaging with the broader sonic and structural conventions that define pop music as a global category, allowing their work to resonate with listeners far outside the Philippines’ borders.
