From the Philippines, Cup of Joe defines their sound as "experimental," incorporating acoustic pop, retro, alternative pop, retro-wave, and neo-folk, with their music influenced by their environment in Baguio. Formed in November 2018 in Baguio, the pop rock band signed with Viva Records in 2019. The current lineup of Cup of Joe includes lead vocalists Gian Bernardino and Raphaell Ridao, lead guitarist Gabriel Fernandez, rhythm guitarist CJ Fernandez, and keyboardist Xen Gareza. Bassist Raphael Severino departed from the band in June 2024 after five years. Music critics have praised Cup of Joe's ability to create catchy tunes with relatable lyrics and their blend of various styles. Punch Liwanag, a music critic from *Manila Bulletin*, praised their 2020 songs "Sagada" and "Hayaan" as mid-tempo ballads emphasizing their alt-pop style, noting "Sagada" for its "lilting" quality and themes of catharsis.
