Bruno Mars built his career as a multi-hyphenate creative whose range as a singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer has cemented his status as one of the most successful and influential artists of his generation. His string of chart-topping, record-breaking work began in 2009, launching a run of releases that would redefine mainstream pop success and earn him a spot as one of the best-selling artists of all time, with over 150 million records sold worldwide across his solo and collaborative projects. Beyond his solo output, he has expanded his creative scope to include membership in Silk Sonic, the duo he formed with Anderson .Paak, a project that adds to the long list of celebrated work he has built over more than a decade in the public eye. Across his discography, he has earned 35 entries on the Billboard Hot 100, nine of which claimed the number one spot, a feat that few artists in the history of the chart have matched.
