Rooted in the Philippines’ longstanding, vibrant community of rock and roll creators, the album Blush carries forward a lineage of genre work that has thrived across the archipelago for decades, centered on the uncompromising core of rock and roll that has drawn creators and audiences alike to the form’s ability to channel unfiltered creative perspective. As a rock and roll album emerging from the Philippines, Blush sits within a rich network of local musicians who have adapted the foundational elements of the genre to speak to the specific contexts of life and creation across the country’s many islands, building on a tradition of rock and roll that has remained a staple of Filipino creative life even as the broader global musical landscape shifts and evolves.
