Long before launching the group that would become one of Indonesian pop’s most enduring acts, Yovie Widianto cut his teeth as the bandleader of Kahitna, a widely successful group that shaped local music through the 1990s. A multi-hyphenate talent who works as a pianist, songwriter, and producer, Widianto founded his own band in 2001, debuting under the name Yovie & The Nuno, a project that would eventually rebrand to the shorter Yovie & Nuno, the name the group carries to this day.
