This rock recording from Indonesia, "Separuh Nafas," is performed by Dewa 19, a band considered one of the greatest in Indonesian popular music history. Formed in Surabaya, East Java, in 1986, Dewa 19 is led by singer-songwriter Ahmad Dhani. The band's name, "Dewa," is an acronym of the founding members' names: Dhani, Erwin, Wawan, and Andra, with "19" added to represent the average age of the members when the band was officially established and when their first album was being worked on in 1991. The band's musical style blends rock, pop rock, soft rock, alternative rock, symphonic rock, hard rock, pop metal, and arena rock, characterized by powerful yet melodic rock arrangements that integrate keyboard layers with guitar riffs. Dewa 19 disbanded in 2011 but regrouped in 2019 for reunion shows, and since 2022, the band has featured four vocalists: Ari Lasso, Once Mekel, Virzha, and Marcello Tahitoe.
