حول هذه الأغنية
World Music, the expansive genre category built to center and amplify place-specific sonic traditions that emerge from communities across the globe, forms the throughline that anchors Sebelas Duabelas, a sound originating in Indonesia, the world’s largest archipelago, home to thousands of distinct communities, each with their own longstanding creative practices that shape the rich tapestry of regional sonic output that feeds into the broader global landscape of World Music. Unlike generic genre labels that flatten the specificity of the works they group, World Music is rooted in a longstanding commitment to honoring the cultural origins of every sound it encompasses, framing works not as interchangeable cultural curiosities but as living, intentional creative expressions that carry the weight and warmth of the specific contexts that spawn them.
