Formed in Orlando, Florida, in 1993, the Backstreet Boys grew from a fledgling American vocal group and pop boy band into the best-selling boy band of all time, with more than 150 million records sold worldwide across their three-decade career. The group’s longstanding lineup consists of Nick Carter, Howie Dorough, AJ McLean, and cousins Brian Littrell and Kevin Richardson, a core that has anchored nearly all of their major releases and public milestones. They hold two unprecedented chart distinctions: they are the first group since Led Zeppelin to land their first ten albums in the top 10 on the Billboard 200, and the only boy band in history to hit that mark, a feat that speaks to their unbroken commercial and cultural resonance. Two of their most iconic early albums, their self-titled *Backstreet Boys* and the 1999 blockbuster *Millennium*, were both certified diamond by the Recording Industry Association of America, a rare honor reserved for only the highest-selling records in the industry.
