The Backstreet Boys, an American vocal group and pop boy band, formed in Orlando, Florida, in 1993, and this recording, "Shining Star," originates from Indonesia. Comprising Nick Carter, Howie Dorough, AJ McLean, and cousins Brian Littrell and Kevin Richardson, the group has achieved significant global success, selling over 150 million records worldwide, which establishes them as the best-selling boy band of all time. Their impact on the music industry is further underscored by being the first group since Led Zeppelin to have their initial ten albums reach the top 10 on the Billboard 200, a feat unmatched by any other boy band. Their albums *Backstreet Boys* and *Millennium* both earned diamond certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), highlighting their commercial dominance. The group's musical style has evolved considerably over their career, starting with a blend of R&B and dance club pop, incorporating new jack balladry and hip-hop in their early works.
