The Backstreet Boys, an American vocal group and pop boy band formed in Orlando, Florida, in 1993, consist of Nick Carter, Howie Dorough, AJ McLean, and cousins Brian Littrell and Kevin Richardson. Their musical style has evolved significantly, moving from an early hybrid of R&B and dance club pop with new jack balladry and hip-hop to more pop and pop-rock, and later adult contemporary. This stylistic progression is evident across their notable releases, which include their debut album *Backstreet Boys* (1996), *Backstreet's Back* (1997), *Millennium* (1999), and *Black & Blue* (2000). The group has achieved considerable commercial success, selling over 150 million records worldwide, a feat that establishes them as the best-selling boy band of all time. Their albums *Backstreet Boys* and *Millennium* both received diamond certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), underscoring their impact.
