Jelly Roll Addresses Politics on Jimmy Kimmel After Trump Backlash
حول هذه الأغنية
Jelly Roll addresses his political views on Jimmy Kimmel Live after backlash over his jokes about Donald Trump. During his 18-minute farewell monologue on *Jimmy Kimmel Live*, Jelly Roll directly addressed the political controversy surrounding him, explaining why he refuses to be labeled simply as a Trump supporter or a liberal. The country-rap star pushed back on claims that Jimmy Kimmel's writers were responsible for his political comments, joking that he would never take orders from “some sweaty little dork named Josh.” He also explained that while he leans left on some issues, he considers himself politically down the middle, describing himself as a Christian, farmer, and bow hunter. Jelly Roll also revisited the Grammys controversy, when he avoided answering a political question and later admitted he wished he had spoken sooner. He revealed that his voting rights have been restored and said he plans to vote in November. Another major point came from his explanation of why he shook Donald Trump's hand at a UFC event. Jelly Roll said his late father was a veteran and that he will always show respect to a sitting president. For him, a handshake is not the same thing as a political endorsement. Ultimately, Jelly Roll says he does not want political disagreements to erase the things people have in common. His message was less about choosing a political side and more about refusing to let one moment define who he is.
