Katy Perry's "E.T." is a song from her 2010 album, *Teenage Dream*, which became the only album by a woman to produce five U.S. number-one singles. Perry is an American singer, songwriter, and television personality born in Santa Barbara, California. Raised by Pentecostal pastors, she initially pursued gospel music, releasing her debut album, *Katy Hudson*, in 2001 under her birth name. After moving to Los Angeles at 17, she adopted the stage name Katy Perry to avoid confusion with actress Kate Hudson. Perry signed with Capitol Records in 2007, and her breakthrough came with the 2008 pop-rock album *One of the Boys*, featuring the hit single "I Kissed a Girl." Perry's subsequent albums include *Prism* (2013), *Witness* (2017), *Smile* (2020), and *143* (2024). She is one of the best-selling music artists of all time, with estimated sales of over 151 million records worldwide.
